EasyJet coming to Croatia

Low cost carrier EasyJet to start flying to Croatia

ZAGREB - 2. March 2006 - The second largest European low cost air carrier, EasyJet, has announced that it will commence with flights to Croatia on the 30th June this year. The company will start with 4 weekly flights between Rijeka airport (in Istra) and London (Luton airport). This is the most significant EasyJet expansion to the east European market since May 2004, according to EasyJet.

The Irish Ryanair has also announced that they will commence flying to Croatia in 2007, starting with flights between the coastal city of Pula and Dublin, and possibly with Stockholm and Milan. Pula is the second largest city in Istra, well known by its large Roman amphitheatre, dating back to the 1st century.

Many European air carriers already offer either year-round or summer-season flights to Croatia, including Germanwings, SkyEurope, Norwegian, Wizz Air, Aer Lingus, ScandJet, HLX, Lufthansa and soon to start with Edinburgh and Glasgow flights, Flyglobe Span.
