EasyJet coming to
Croatia
Low cost carrier EasyJet to start flying to
Croatia
ZAGREB - 2. March 2006 - The second
largest European low cost air carrier, EasyJet, has announced that
it will commence with flights to Croatia on the 30th June this
year. The company will start with 4 weekly flights between Rijeka
airport (in Istra) and London (Luton airport). This is the most
significant EasyJet expansion to the east European market since May
2004, according to EasyJet.
The Irish Ryanair has also announced that they
will commence flying to Croatia in 2007, starting with flights
between the coastal city of Pula and Dublin, and possibly with
Stockholm and Milan. Pula is the second largest city in Istra, well
known by its large Roman amphitheatre, dating back to the 1st
century.
Many European air carriers already offer
either year-round or summer-season flights to Croatia, including
Germanwings, SkyEurope, Norwegian, Wizz Air, Aer Lingus, ScandJet,
HLX, Lufthansa and soon to start with Edinburgh and Glasgow
flights, Flyglobe Span.
