Rebuilding of Hotel Libertas in Dubrovnik

DUBROVNIK - 10. March 2006 - The hotel group Rixos has started the complete rebuilding of Dubrovnik's Hotel Libertas, to convert it into 5-star hotel in the process. The Turkey's hotel group, known by its advertising motto 'All Inclusive - All Exclusive', bought Hotel Libertas in 2004. The hotel was completely abolished, in order to have it rebuilt into a luxury 5-star hotel.

The company is investing 40 million Euros into the rebuilding of the hotel. It is expected that the building works will take 14-15 months to complete. When finished, the hotel will have 318 rooms, a conference centre with the seating for 1000 people, a casino and a wellness centre. The hotel will have indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a beach. The new hotel is expected to accept its first guests next year - in the summer of 2007.

This will be the 7th 5-star hotel in Dubrovnik. Of all Dalmatian and for that matter Croatian coastline tourist cities, Dubrovnik has achieved the status of a true elite destination in Croatia and the Mediterranean.
