There are all kinds of destinations to choose from when considering a trip to Croatia. Many of these lie along the country’s Adriatic coastline, with Dubrovnik city being the most prominent. This city is considered the jewel of the country and is steeped in history.
Other locations to visit on the coastline include Split and Pula, and the islands of Korcula and Hvar are also impressive destinations. The capital of Croatia, Zagreb, lies in the north west of the country and is the largest city. Its northern section, Gornji Grad, dates back to medieval times and is a popular spot for tourists. Croatia’s natural beauty is one of its top attractions and one of the best is the Plitvice Lakes, with the area around these 16 connected lakes designated as a national park. There are also many historic buildings to see around the country. This includes the Roman amphitheater in Pula, the Diocletian’s Palace in Split, and the Euphrasian Basilica in Porec.
Walking the historic walls that surround Dubrovnik is something that many visitors to Croatia want to do. Other attractions include the mountain scenery around the Premuzic Trail and exploring the Elaphite Islands.

Croatia has warm sunny weather during the spring and summer seasons. This is especially so along the coastline, with a Mediterranean climate making it a fine destination for tourists.
