Croatian islands have been celebrities playground for decades, even centuries. After all, the Roman emperor Diocletian built a palace in what's today the city centre of Split, as his holiday villa way back in the 4th century. This beautiful coastline and islands continue to attract celebrities even more today.

It's one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe, dotted with numerous seaside towns and cities, hundreds of Mediterranean islands and one of the cleanest seas, the Adriatic Sea.
So, it's no surprise that even today modern celebrities, actors, billionaires, and even royalty are visiting Croatia and in particular Dubrovnik for their holiday, or simply to keep up with the rest of them.
It is rumoured that the likes of celebrities such as Bill Gates, Sharon Stone, Elke Sommer, Bernie Ecclestone, Prince Charles & Family, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Benneton Senior, Clint Eastwood and many others have visited and cruised around Croatian islands aboard their luxury yachts over the years.
Mr Gates has apparently even expressed an interest in purchasing an island here, although nothing has been confirmed or denied publicly. There's no doubt that 'rich and famous' find Croatia and its islands particularly interesting and fascinating.
