Krka National Park is a very scenic area with many small lakes and waterfalls. Although it was originally turned into a national park for scientific purposes, to study its ecosystems, its landmark waterfalls and the main lake were eventually made available to public for tourism purposes.
During the summer season, hundreds of visitors enjoy the clear waters in the water pool just below the falls. After Plitvice Lakes, it's the second most visited national park in Croatia, and one of the most picturesque.
There are seven waterfalls along the Krka river, as part of the National Park, of which Skradinski buk is the best known, most beautiful and most popular.
